พรพรสำฦต earns top ranking for semester-long study-abroad participation

พรพรสำฦต students are taking lessons in the liberal arts outside the picturesque Chenango Valley โ€” and in impressive numbers.

The university has been for student participation in semester-long off-campus study opportunities. The rankings appeared in the annual Open Doors report, published by the Institute of International Education (IIE) with the U.S. Department of Stateโ€™s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

โ€œพรพรสำฦต supports an average of twenty semester-long, faculty-led programs that enrich student learning across the curriculum,โ€ said Joanna Holvey Bowles, director of off-campus study. โ€œThese opportunities encourage foreign language exploration, and broaden student learning and global perspective.โ€

พรพรสำฦต has held the top spot in the IIE ranking for two of the past three years, and has been a fixture in the top five for more than a decade. The IIE also listed พรพรสำฦต ninth among baccalaureate institutions for overall participation in study abroad programs.

โ€œWith seventy-two percent of พรพรสำฦต students studying abroad โ€” and campus-wide support for faculty and students alike,โ€ Holvey Bowles said, โ€œthis tradition of close to sixty years has a bright future.โ€
