NY Times Reviews Balakian’s New Book

The New York Times reviewed ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ Professor Peter Balakian’s new book, ‘The Burning Tigris: The Armenian Genocide and America’s Response’ on Oct. 19. The book debuted at No. 4 on the New York Times bestseller list on October 19. The book was also ranked No. 7 on the Publishers Weekly list, No. 6 on the Wall Street Journal bestseller list and No. 50 on the USA Today list.

Balakian is the Donald M. and Constance H. Rebar Professor of the Humanities in ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s English department. He was also the first director of ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s Center for Ethics and World Societies. Balakian’s memoir ‘Black Dog of Fate’ was reviewed widely and won the 1998 PEN Martha/Albrand Prize.
