I write today to provide an update regarding the elevated lead levels discovered at some lower-campus properties in the fall of 2019.

Prior to winter recess ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ entered into a contract with GHD, a global leader in integrated water management, to conduct an in-depth study of the systems that supply ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s buildings with water on and off campus, and to investigate potential lead sources within these buildings.

Testing results indicate that filtration systems in place in campus buildings are working as expected.

¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ and the Village of Hamilton are working together to hire an engineering firm to conduct a comprehensive scientific review of elevated lead levels.

Answers to frequently asked questions regarding the water testing taking place on campus.

Additional water testing is being conducted by the Village of Hamilton and ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ to determine the source of elevated lead levels found in water samples taken within University-owned buildings along the Broad Street corridor.

The University conducted additional water sampling. The results of that testing help the University’s Environmental Health and Safety Office (EHS) to understand more clearly the potential source of elevated lead levels along the Broad Street corridor.
