Six hundred and eighty four members of the Class of 2019 received their degrees during the institution’s 198th commencement exercises held along the banks of Taylor Lake — ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s first outdoor ceremony since 2008.

The easternmost of ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s two new residential facilities will be named Burke Hall, in recognition of a $10 million gift from Gretchen ’81 and Steve ’80 Burke P’11,’20.

One of ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s two new residence halls will be named Jane Pinchin Hall.

D’Jonita Cottrell ’19, an educational studies and psychology double major from Brockton, Mass., has won ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s 1819 Award.

Marlene Lawston and Leah Weisburn, both members of the Class of 2020, have received Goldwater Scholarships for the upcoming academic year.

Peter Balakian, Donald M. and Constance H. Rebar Professor in humanities and professor of English, has been selected as the 2019 recipient of the Jerome Balmuth Award for Teaching.

Rabbi Barry R. Baron, former command chaplain in the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, N.C., has been named associate university chaplain and campus rabbi at ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ, effective June 15.

¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s Leadership tradition, 200 years in the making, was on full display last weekend as alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends gathered for a series of celebratory events on campus.

Antonio Delgado ’99, U.S. Representative for the 19th Congressional District, will deliver the commencement address to ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s Class of 2019 on May 19, 2019.

Trustee Emeritus Robert Hung Ngai Ho ’56, H’11 has confirmed a $15 million gift to ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ to establish the Robert Hung Ngai Ho Mind, Brain, and Behavior Initiative.
