As a signatory of the Second Nature Climate Commitment, ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ has pledged ongoing determination in its work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on campus and to plan for a more sustainable future.

The Town and Village of Hamilton have officially been certified as Climate Smart Communities.

Award-winning journalist Ann Curry visited ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ to discuss climate change and her career.

The ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ community comes together each year to celebrate sustainability during 13 Days of Green. This ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ tradition, with programs leading up to Earth Day, highlights local and global sustainability challenges and initiatives, and demonstrates what individuals can do to inspire change.

¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ’s newest building, Benton Hall, is now its first to earn LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ is proud to announce its investment in several impactful carbon offset projects to mitigate remaining University emissions for air and automotive travel, and energy consumption related to buildings.

In 2019, ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ will become the first University in New York State to achieve carbon neutrality. 

On November 7–8, ¾Ã¾ÃÊÓƵ became the first private institution to host the annual State of New York Sustainability Conference. More than 300 sustainability officers, professors, industry experts, and students from across New York State came to campus to discuss climate action, renewable energy, waste reduction, and fostering sustainable behavior.
